Topping out milestone at ISG’s Colt datacentre project in Middlesex
We celebrated reaching the highest point in the datacentre construction, with client, Colt Data Centre Services, Hillingdon Council, Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce, and education partners.
Working with both owner and co-location markets on large-scale projects, we’ve partnered with global tech giants and cloud operators in UK and European locations. Our fully-integrated approach enables us to work transparently with datacentre providers as part of a flat-structured team from the outset, building trust and collaboration while dramatically reducing risk and delivery times across large-scale builds. In Holland, this resulted in a 60MW datacentre for a global tech giant on time, budget and programme in just 55 weeks – a record-breaking time for a datacentre of its size.
Legacy beyond construction
In September 2023, four ISG representatives showcased their findings from the UN Global Compact Innovator Accelerator programme in New York; honing in on the UK's energy demand and exploring how the construction industry could provide solutions to this pressing issue. Notably, datacentres stood out as a sector with substantial energy consumption, but also immense potential for promoting sustainable change and innovation.

Expertise in film and TV studios delivery with effective social impact

We completed a TV studios project - the expansion of Bristol film and TV production facility, The Bottle Yard Studios - for Bristol City Council. Procured through the Southern Construction Framework, the £12 million redevelopment of industrial property, backed by West of England Combined Authority investment, resulted in three new stages being added to the Studios’ portfolio.
The film and TV studio was named Project of the Year by the Southern Construction Framework, with the win recognising the project team’s expertise in successfully delivery. The framework team commented, "this was a challenging job with really impressive social outcomes. The expansion will create new jobs and provide skills and training opportunities to the wider Bristol community."

Generative AI and net zero targets driving electronics demand in the UK technology sector
There is currently a burgeoning demand from global technology companies for leading-edge semiconductor research and development. Recent advancements in generative AI technology have spurred significant interest among major tech players and enterprises, sparking heightened demand.
In line with this, we are converting part of the existing facility of Imec, a world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, into an ultra-cleanroom environment. The scheme builds on our reputation for delivering technically complex and highly-specified environments across sectors, leveraging our specialist experience and strategic supply chain.
As a further boost, UK Government has announcement a £16.6million investment to give semiconductor researchers and businesses access to new equipment helping them test and make chips for use in high-energy machines like electric cars, supporting wider net zero commitments.
